Doughnuts for all on Ellis Island as part of the first ever Artist-in-Residence program at the Statue of Liberty National Monument and Ellis Island. Theresa Loong and Laura Nova will collect stories about food and family history from a refreshment cart that doubles as a media production studio. Passing out doughnuts as Salvation Army volunteers did at the turn of the 20th Century, "Feed Me A Story" will entice the public to share sensorial memories. By answering questions like "What's your oldest family recipe?", "What dish reminds you of home?", "Do you have an ancestor who passed through Ellis Island and shared a recipe with you?", the project incorporates the quintessential immigration experience with cultural history and contemporary influences.
